John M. Duffoo, a native of Peru, grew up in Gwinnett County, Georgia. He attended grade school in Gwinnett and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a major in criminal justice from Georgia State University. John obtained his law degree from Whittier College School of Law, after completing a judicial internship with Judge, Lynne Riddle (retired), U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. John is also a past recipient of the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence in Bankruptcy.


After graduating law school, John joined Thompson, O’Brien, Kemp & Nasuti, P.C. where he was primarily engaged in Creditor’s Rights and Bankruptcy. He has represented corporations, banking institutions and credit unions in all state courts, as well as, in Bankruptcy Court. In 2003, he joined the Law Offices of Gerald E. Moore & Associates, P.C. as lead associate in charge of call center collections, litigation and compliance, where he later became partner in 2006.

In 2016, John established this firm which focuses on business representation and provides clients with full service commercial collections and litigation. John has devoted his career to representing creditors, including banks, credit unions, family owned business, and corporations of all sizes and industries. As an experienced trial attorney having litigated and negotiated hundreds of cases successfully, he is highly skilled in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. A substantial time of John’s practice is devoted to defense litigation, including counterclaims and actions brought in Federal Court involving debt collection, credit reporting and related state causes of action.


John is a member of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He is admitted to practice law in all courts in Georgia, including the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. Additionally, John is admitted in the United States District Court, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern and Middle District of Georgia, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
